Young Living beauty products transformed my skin years ago and I fell in LOVE! These are not all the products they offer but are just my personal favorites and why I use them! My skin is on the drier side and most beauty products I tried previously would treat my dry skin but leave me with breakouts! The best part about using Young Living is knowing that I’m not putting harmful chemicals on my skin….remember the skin is the biggest organ on your body so anything you are putting on is absorbed and goes far beyond the skin. You do not have to compromise good skin to go without toxins!
Before we begin its important to understand that many skin issues, such as acne, are the cause of an underlying issue. Skin charts are a good starting point if you think there may be something going on and I refer to this chart when considering supplements as well. There are also other things that can come into play such as dehydration and diet. If you are eating tons of processed foods and not drinking enough water it can wreak havoc on your skin! Be sure to take care of yourself from the inside out!
Young Living Art Kit
If you told me you could only purchase 1 Young Living beauty product I would tell you to get the art kit every single time! It comes with a cleanser, toner, and moisturizer. Yes I use other products that I love but these 3 are really the only thing you NEED in your beauty regimen.
The cleanser is a gentle foaming cleanser that will not dry out your skin. It has frankincense, royal hawaiian sandalwood, lemon, lavender, and melissa. I like to use a clarisonic brush with mine to help cleanse the skin and lightly exfoliate. You can find a clarisonic brush here. http://www.sephora.com/mia-1-skin-cleansing-system-P285163…
Toner is one of the most unused products but if you realized its benefits you would never skip it again! Toner helps to minimize pores, balance your skins pH, moisturizes, protects the skin against environmental impurities, and refreshes skin. Our skin is naturally acidic with typically a pH balance of between a 5 & 6. Because soap is alkaline it disrupts the pH balance of our skin. Your skin will work overtime on its own to try to balance this and can cause it to become oily. Using toner will restore the balance immediately.
YL art toner has peppermint, royal hawaiian sandalwood, lemon, frankincense, lavender, green tea extract, and melissa.
Moisturizer helps keep your skin hydrated and softer and younger. Use upward strokes while applying your moisturizer after toning. This will help get it into your pores where you need it and I always like to avoid pulling or tugging on my face. The art moisturizer is light and easy to apply makeup over. Its good for all skin types including sensitive skin and has both frankincense and royal hawaiian sandalwood which are good for anti-aging.
Satin Mint Facial Scrub
Let’s talk exfoliation! Its important to exfoliate the face because our skin is constantly regenerating new skin cells as the old ones shed. The outer layer is shed about every 30 days. As we age, the process of cell regeneration slows down. This means that the body is slower to shed skin cells and generate new ones. When old skin cells start to pile up on the surface of the skin, it can leave skin looking dull, rough, and dry. Furthermore, the build-up of dead skin cells can result in excess oil and clogged pores, leading to blemishes and acne. A gentle exfoliation will help slough off those old skin cells and reveal brighter, younger skin. Its important to use a gentle exfoliation that is not going to be harmful to your skin! Many products contain ingredients that are too harsh and are actually tearing the skin which you do not want!
Young Living Satin Mint Facial Scrub contains gentle ingredients that will not harm your skins pH balance (remember we talked about that yesterday). It contains jojoba oil, mango butter, MSM, aloe, and Peppermint essential oil to minimize the appearance of pores and invigorate dull skin.
I use mine once a week in the shower and use a dime size amount for my entire face. A little bit really does go a long way!
Depending on your skin you may be able to do this more frequently. My skin is thinner and more sensitive so more than once a week is too much for me!
This tube is $16.26 and lasts me a minimum of 6 months.
Wolfberry eye cream
Using eye cream is important because the skin around the eyes is much thinner and unlike your facial moisturizer these are formulated with a consistency that is better for the delicate skin. The skin around our eyes tends to show age first because of the skin being thinner and things like squinting and sun damage.
Wolfberry Eye Cream is a natural, water-based moisturizer. Containing the antiaging and skin-conditioning properties of wolfberry seed oil, this cream soothes tired eyes and minimizes the appearance of fine lines. Its going to ease the puffiness and dark circles and tighten the skin.
Apply to your undereye after cleansing and toning. I like to keep mine in the fridge since the cold helps even more with puffiness and massage upward from my undereye up to my brow bone.
I love skin brightening products! My skin is very pale and I tend to get sun spots SUPER easily! Most skin brightening products on the market contain hydroquinone or even mercury both of which are harmful. The Campaign for Safe Cosmetics refers to hydroquinone as “one of the most toxic ingredients used in personal care products.” Um…no thanks!
Sheerlume combines pure essential oils with a unique blend of alpine botanical extracts to brighten and nourish the skin. It will visibly brighten and balance your skin tone.
Use morning and night for a glowing, youthful complexion!
Young Living Art Renewal Serum
The serum is especially designed with aging skin in mind with trans-resveratrol for firming and toning properties. This will help tighten your skin. Even if you do not have wrinkles yet and think you don’t need it, its never too early to start! The more you do before there is a problem the better it will be later.
The serum contains Frankincense, Myrrh and Sensation essential oil with is calming and soothing to the skin and emotions. The Renewal Serum is to be used after cleansing twice daily and followed with your preferred Young Living moisturizer.
ART Intensive Moisturizer

Sandalwood moisturizing cream
This one is SUPAH thick! Sandalwood Moisturizing Cream is an ultra-hydrating much thicker cream in comparison for combination, dry and mature skin care types. Regarded for its regenerative properties and protection and its age defying protection. Softens skin and promotes elasticity.
Contains Royal Hawaiian Sandalwood, Ylang Ylang, Geranium, Sandalwood, Rosehip seed oil (I love to use rosehip seed oil as a carrier), Lavender, Chamomile, Myrrh, Wolfberry Seed Oil, and more.
ART Creme Masque
The ART Creme Masque is formulated to deeply moisturize skin using an exclusive blend of hyaluronic acid and pure essential oils. Other spa-quality botanicals are added to help tighten and restore the look of youthfulness to the skin. Suitable for all skin types.
Hyaluronic acid is naturally found in the body, hyaluronic acid secures moisture and creates fullness. As we age, skin moisture can drop significantly, which makes the skin lose elasticity and expose the signs of aging on the skin. Hyaluronic acid plays a critical role in skin health with its unique ability to hold in moisture (1000 ml of water per gram of hyaluronic acid).
Hyaluronic acid is also a “smart nutrient” as it can adjust its moisture absorption rate based on the humidity—relative to the season and the climate. I use this once a week especially in winter! I love to make a mask with bentonite clay first and then do this after since the clay can be super drying to my skin. You can read more about the clay mask here: http://jessica-vaughn.com/best-face-mask-will-ever-use/
Orange Blossom Face Wash
Orange Blossom Wash is AMAZING for sensitive or acne prone skin. Its very gentle with an aloe base which help to leaves your skin feeling pure and cleansed. It contains MSM to promote healthy and clear skin, wolf berry seed oil to hydrate, and essential oils to soothe the skin. Also contains botanicals to protect your skin from free radical damage. You can make this one last a bit longer by adding it to a foaming pump! I buy a 2oz empty foam pump container and fill it 1/4 with orange blossom and slowly add distilled water until its almost full. That makes this 4oz bottle last me months!
Rose Ointment is one I don’t use on my face on a regular basis but do use it from time to time as a moisturizing mask when I’m extra dry! Rose Ointment protects and nourishes the skin with benefits of mink oil (similar to the body’s natural oils), lecithin, lanolin, sesame seed oil, and essential oils (palmorosa, patchouli, coriander, myrrh, bergamot, carrot seed, tea tree, ylang ylang, geranium, and rose). Its ideal for dry and cracked skin and works well applied over essential oils. Its suitable for sensitive skin.
I use this nightly on my cuticles and a few times a week on my feet. Rub some all over your feet at night and put socks on top to wake up to soft feet!
